If you play the mobile game Match Masters, then you know all about sticker sharing—or, more frustratingly, the lack thereof. Despite the game’s communal spirit, the plea for stickers echoes across team chat rooms, sometimes leading to disputes that can sour the team dynamics. Recently, a few members on our team had a disagreement over stickers that led to a player leaving the team, and this was due to a misunderstanding about how sticker sharing works. Today, I’m here to shed some light on this sticky situation, by offering some tips on how to get more stickers and why you shouldn’t take it personal when you don’t.
A Seasoned Player’s Insights
Three seasons of gameplay and a bit of “team hopping” have taught me a few things: if you’re on an active team, stickers will come your way. You really don’t even need to ask. I mean, you can, but it might not sit well with your teammates, especially if you’re the new kid. Asking for stickers right off the bat can rub people the wrong way and, worst case, might even get you booted off the team. But here’s the thing – most players who are really into the game, like me, check every day to see if we can send stickers. And most of the time, there’s no one to send to. So when there is, we’re all over it because who doesn’t like helping out? My point is, don’t take it personal. It might help to know that most of us DO NOT receive stickers from other players everyday. In fact, some players NEVER receive stickers from other players. It will help you to understand how it all works…
Understanding the Sticker Economy
Want to better understand why you’re not receiving stickers as frequently as you’d hope? Take a moment to review your team members’ profiles, focusing on the number of Sticker Albums each has completed. This insight can be very helpful. For instance, players who have completed a higher number of albums than you typically receive fewer stickers since they’re further ahead. It’s not personal; it’s just the nature of the game’s economy. On our team, we have a superstar player, “Bugsy,” known for her high activity level and generous sticker sharing. Despite her contributions, Bugsy receives fewer stickers because she’s completed more albums than everyone else. Yet, she understands this dynamic and doesn’t take it to heart. Personally, I have not completed as many albums as most of my teammates, therefore when I unlock a new album I suddenly get a bunch of stickers sent to me.
Best Tips to Get More Stickers
- Find a Good Team: Active chats and engaged team owners are green flags. Utilize the Match Masters Discord to find teams looking for new members. The goal is to find the right team for you, so don’t take it personal if you get removed from a team or two during the process. Keep exploring and you will find a team where you fit in. You want to be on a team that does well in Sticker Mania. This is a weekly event where the team must work together to earn stars to upgrade the prize. When the event ends, everyone gets to claim it. This is how you get the rare stickers!
- Make a Good First Impression: Avoid asking for stickers upon joining. Instead, focus on contributing to the team’s success through active participation. Send stickers every chance you get, and I suggest donating your best diamond boosters to the team, especially if you are unable to send stickers.
- Be an Active Team Member: Play games that earn stars for your team, and participate in the chat. Ask questions, offer advice, and give shout-outs to top performers. Also, when someone does send you a sticker, be sure to tell them thank you. Many members on our team will send the person booster. This is not required but it’s a good practice. When you do donate to your team, I suggest giving them the best of what you have. Give them what you would hope to be given, after all you are going to lose those boosters anyways! lol
- Self-Reliance is Key: Remember, your primary means of acquiring stickers should be through playing the game and completing challenges. One of the fastest ways to do this is by multiplying your boosters. Also if you discover any kind of challenge that you happen to be really good at and are able to win nice and easy, I suggest you play it as many times as you possibly can! Stack up on those rewards!
Receiving Stickers is a Bonus
It’s important to remember that trading stickers with the team is meant to foster a sense of community. It is a bonus, so do not expect it but rather be thankful when it happens. If you find yourself on a team that doesn’t meet your expectations in terms of interaction or support, don’t hesitate to seek out a new one. There are plenty of other great teams out there.
In closing, Match Masters is a great game and is even better when you’re on a great team. Great teams are built by a supportive community that thrives on mutual respect and generosity. So, next time you log in, consider how you can contribute to a more positive and engaging team environment. And who knows? Maybe your sticker fortune will soon change for the better.
